Travis Kelce is the Kansas City Chiefs’ star tight end and, by most measures, the greatest at his position in the modern game. A key piece of the Chiefs’ dynasty and a multiple-time Super Bowl champion, he is one of the most collectible current Chiefs in the hobby — rare for a tight end to command this level of demand.
What to collect
Kelce’s 2013 rookie cards anchor his market — see the key-cards guide for the flagship chrome rookies and the premium autographs, tier by tier.
His rookie year sits on the useful side of a hobby dividing line. Kelce was drafted in 2013, before Panini took the exclusive NFL license in 2016, so unlike the Chiefs’ later stars he has a genuine Topps Chrome rookie alongside his Panini ones — two separate chrome rookie lineages to choose between. From there, collectors chase numbered parallels and autographs, which are scarcer and tend to appreciate more than base cards. Kelce also appears across the modern Panini brands covered here — Prizm, Donruss Optic, Mosaic, Select and paper Donruss — though those are later-career issues, not rookies. And now Topps again: the licensed 2025 Topps Chrome Football checklist (re-read 24 August 2026) carries Kelce at base #150, with Base Etch and Base Image variations plus Fanatical FF-29, Power Players PP-34, Shadow Etch SE-28 and 1975 Topps 1975-17. No Kelce autograph in it — the only signed Chiefs veteran there is Xavier Worthy. His 2013 Topps Chrome rookie has no free published checklist we can reach from here, so verify that card’s number off the card itself. The eBay rails below show what’s actually for sale.
Where he fits
Kelce is a headline name on the Chiefs Super Bowl dynasty cards list and on best Chiefs cards to collect, and he is the modern half of the Chiefs’ tight-end story that Tony Gonzalez began. Alongside him on the dynasty roster: Patrick Mahomes, Chris Jones, Isiah Pacheco and Xavier Worthy. Buying tips
- Prefer graded copies for anything at a real price point — the grading ROI calculator helps you decide whether a raw copy is worth submitting.
- Rookie-year cards command a premium over later-year base cards. Confirm the card is a 2013 issue rather than a later card listed loosely as a rookie; the how to read a football card guide covers dating a card.
- Verify autographs are authenticated (graded or from a licensed product) and buy from reputable sellers.
